In 1973, Oto Uzay started his business life in Taksim Tarlabasi as a retail store. In 1970s the company used to sell only locally produced automobile spare parts and accessories which left their place to imported products through time. In 1981, Oto Uzay built a 2500 squaremeter factory in Topkapi where the company started to manufacture its own products and a 1500 squaremeter main office building in Taksim for the sales and general management departments. In 1994 to enlarge its sales market and provide full service to all the geographic regions in Turkey, the company assigned two sales representatives and a mobile truck full of Oto Uzay products to each region and became very successful with this new marketing strategy. Today because of the relatively high production costs the company is no longer involved in manufacturing and its product portfolio consists of imported items. At present, Oto Uzay is operating in its 17000 m2 plaza situated in downtown Istanbul.
