Sinopec Sichuan Vinylon Works (hereinafter referred to as SVW), is one of the four imported large chemical fiber projects in 1970s with its major process plants imported from UK, France, Germany, Japan, etc. SVW&＃39;s initial capital expenditure amounts to RMB 1 billion. As of the end of 2014, its total fixed assets have reached RMB 9.024 billion.After four decades since founded, SVW, as a super size enterprise complex, has become the biggest manufacturer using natural gas (NG) as the main feedstock to produce chemicals and chemical fibers in China and the only NG-based chemical enterprise within China Petrochemical Corporation. The main products of SVW comprise VAM, methanol, methyl acetate, ammonia, PVOH, VAE (Vinyl Acetate and Ethylene Co-Polymerization Emulsion), and vinylon fiber. As one of the leading licensers of NG-based chemical engineering technology both in China and overseas, SVW has always been upholding innovation with noticeable accomplishments achiered in the production of refined chemicals and chemical fibers for its three series of products,i.e,POVH ,vinylon and VAE. Specifically, it has developed more than 70 grades of PVOH products; its vinylon fiber products have evolved into three major series namely the water soluble fiber, high tenacity and high modulus vinylon fiber and special fibers; and its VAE products have two major series viz. the emulsion series and powder series. Our "Chuan Wei" brand products have been marketed to dozens of countries and regions widely distributed in North America, EU, South America and here in Asia.SVW has been acclaimed one of the front runners in conducting foreign cooperation by its peers and established three joint ventures, i.e., the Yangtze River Acetyls Co., Ltd, as a joint venture consisting of acetic acid and acetic ester plants; the Xinjiang Weimei Chemical Co., Ltd incorporated jointly by SVW and Markor Group in Xinjiang Province with a 62.5 ktpa acetylene island project completed; and the Chongqing Linde&SVW Gas Co., Ltd joint-ventured by SVW and Linde Group of Germany with an ASU plant built.SVW, as a leading enterprise in fulfilling its social responsibility, has invested more than RMB 1 billion over recent years to improve its wastes disposal facilities and became one of the first batch of exemplary enterprises for desulfurization & denitration revamp of boiler flue gas and has made outstanding contribution to environmental conservation and water protection and control for local community.
