Company Introduction
Kumho P&B Chemicals, Inc.(KPB), the former Kumho Shell Chemical Co., Ltd. which was a joint venture company owned equally by Kumho Group in Korea and the Royal Dutch/Shell Group, has been producing Phenol and its derivatives and is the only manufacturer of those products in Korea since 1976. In July 2000, Kumho P&B Chemicals, Inc. made a new contract with Nippon Steel Chemical Co., Ltd. under a joint venture of 51:49 between Kumho Group and Nippon Steel Chemical Co., Ltd.
With the newest technology introduced by the Royal Dutch/Shell Group and the construction of a new factory to produce Bisphenol-A, MIBK and Epoxy resin, the supply of new products, such as Bisphenol-A and MIBK, in Korea has become possible. Additionally, through the expansion of phenol/acetone with advanced UOP technology, high purity phenol and acetone and the export of the same products from Korea has been made possible.
