No country has yet succeeded in developing 100% water-soluble macromolecular chitosan which has molecular weight 100,000 to one million. Existing water-soluble chitosan is actually chitosan-oligosaccharide that has molecular weight less than 100,000. Or, when it has heavy molecular weight, it is not water-soluble.
