In 1980, Elias Hernandez, founder of the company, began distributing tortillas to restaurants in the local area. Two years later, the company began manufacturing its own specially-formulated corn tortillas. Since the beginning, Mr. Hernandez has worked to meet the demands of customers and the community and the increasing demand for Mexican food products. This goal has resulted in continued expansion of products, services and distribution networks. Our products are distributed under the trade name of don Elias Food Products and include corn and flour tortilla products and most other items utilized by the Mexican restaurant. These products are available to institutional, retail and, more recently, gourmet food customers. In the Spring of 2001, construction of a new facility was completed. This new plant provides us with the ability to continue to meet the growing demands of our customers and we continue to update our equipment to keep up with changes in products and technology. Although Mr. Hernandez remains active in the business, the day-to-day operations are now managed by his children, Arthur Hernandez and Sabrina Vrooman. They along with their spouses provide the strong management and leadership necessary for continued success of the company.
