Denis Brown General Trading & Supplies was established over 29 years ago by Denis Brown Gates who continues to serve as Chairman and is the principal shareholder of Denis Brown General Trading & Supplies.

From very modest beginnings, Denis Brown General Trading & Supplies has grown to be South African leading metal recycling company with operations in Australia. The company also ships significant volumes of product to the Far East and Asia. Over the years Denis Brown General Trading & Supplies has diversified through acquisitions and vertical integration and its businesses now include: metals, metal scrap sourcing and brokering; a steel service center (Venture Steel); aluminum remelt plants (Matalco); and an electronics processing and recycling company (Global Electric Electronic Processing).

Denis Brown General Trading & Supplies operations in Khotso House, 62 Marshall Street, Johannesburg, are registered to the global ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 standards for quality assurance and environmental management.
