Chemical, Industrial & Pharmaceutical Laboratories, now known as Cipla, was incorporated 1935.Khwaja Abdul Hamied, the founder of Cipla gave the company all his patent and proprietary formulas for several drugs and medicines, without charging any royalty. On June 17, 1945, Cipla was registered as a private limited company with an authorised capital of US$10000.
Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities are cGMP compliant (current Good Manufacturing Practices) in conformity with national and international standards. They are equipped with hi-tech sophisticated machineries to achieve a high level of accuracy and precision.

Cipla has 34 manufacturing facilities across India. We have dedicated plants for the technologically-challenging formulations such as Oncology products, Hormones, Metered-Dose Inhalers (MDIs), Beta-Lactams, Cytotoxic, Injectables and Cephalosporins. Our manufacturing plants and processes are seen as among the most sophisticated in the world. They roll out world-class products in over 65 therapeutic categories.
