Company Introduction
Solar Materials has a wide global network spanning from America and Germany to Japan to help source quality feedstock consistent in purity. Consequently, we have strong relationships with domestic and international poly-silicon suppliers.
Using our proprietary bi-directional solidification method, we are able to produce UMG (metallurgical grade silicon) or, if required, a 7N to 11N purity poly-silicon feedstock to process mono-crystalline or multi-crystalline ingots in a round or a square shape. The mono-crystalline ingots are pulled by a small seed crystal from the melt using the well known Czochralski method. This results in a round ingot and produces pseudosquare solar wafers which have rounded edges and straight sides. The multi-crystalline ingots are a rectangular shape with 840x840x250 mm dimensions. This large 400 kg ingot is cut into 25 perfectly measured blocks or bricks that are wire sawed into square solar wafers.
Our new 128,000 square foot manufacturing facililty in Vietnam has the advantage of very low overhead resulting from inexpensive labor, a large source of power, and a low cost of consumables which we pass along to our customers in competitively low priced products.
