I am Nalan Koras, the founder and owner of Calico Organic Textiles. In 2007, I started Calico Organic Textiles as a manufacturer of organic clothing. Today, Calico remains a female-owned, small company that strives to promote fair trade and create work for unemployed women. We simply want to contribute in keeping the earth clean and safe for our children and future generations. Therefore we provide products which are certified as environment friendly sustainable without using any hazardous chemicals. We believe that textile products can be produced in environment-friendly, sustainable, healthy way and at the same time they can be even more enjoyable and comfortable to wear.Our manufacturing facility is located in Izmir, Turkey ? a region known for its high quality Aegean cotton. We proudly use Aegean organic cotton in all our products. We are certified by the Control Union for the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), the Organic Exchange 100 Standard (OE100) and the Organic Exchange Blended Standard. In addition to the Turkish domestic market, we export our finished products to the Netherlands, Germany, England, Israel, Sweden and Spain.
