Based in Abilene, Kansas since 1901, we have successfully grown the company from its first single variety store, to the popular retail chain of more than 200 stores which today operates in 23 states. Since the late 1980?s, ALCO Stores has specifically targeted our expansion in smaller communities with limited access to other regional or national full-line retail chains, to offer these towns more convenient shopping. Today, our stores achieve annual sales of $475 million, and each year we continue our successful track record of more than 100 years of steady, consistent growth by opening new stores in healthy, viable markets.
