PROFILE OF EMERALD HAVEN ESTATES LTD. Ms. Emerald Haven Estates Ltd comprising of Bedagulli Estate and Gorreyhatti Estate is one of the foremost producers of Shade grown washed arabica coffee in India. It is uniquely located in the center of the Billi Ranga Temple Tiger Sanctuary in Chamrajnagar District of Karnataka. It is located at an elevation of between 4277 ft and 4575 ft above Msl at a longitude of N.11 Degres51�.29�� and Latitude of E 77 Degrees 10�.544�. The estate is planted with selection 595 arabica coffee under a two tier shade system which predominantly comprises of Forest species. The Estate produces about 200, 000 Kg of washed arabica parchment and about 25 000 Kgs of Arabica Cherry annually. A very limited amount of parchment digested by the Indian Malabar Civet cat is collected from the wild and offered for sale to selected parties. The Estate is owned by a privately held Company and has a professional Management team. The Estate is committed to long term sustainability and is certified under �Rain Forest Alliance� and �UTZ�. The estate is a member of the Karnataka Planters Association (KPA) and follows the BEST practices recommended by the coffee Board of India. Being situated in the center of a forest area and because the estate practices sustainable agriculture wild animals co-habituate the estate with the workers. The Estate Management is committed to the wellbeing of the workforce as well as the local residents who are mostly underprivileged tribal people.
