Jinan Iron Making Factory is the predecessor of Shandong Ductile Iron Pipes Co; Ltd. It was built in 1957. The first furnace of Shandong province was made here . SDIPC is the main enterprise of Jinan Iron & Steel Group Corporation. The foundry pig iron and pig iron for steel making have won the world fame because of their fine properties and high purity for many years. In 1989, the factory imported the advanced water-cooled metal centrifugal casting process and equipment to produce ductile iron pipes. It is the earliest factory which produces ductile iron pipes according to ISO2531 in China. The company produces both pig iron and pipes. Through the years of development and accumulation, its total fixed asset has reached 8 billion yuan. The company has sinter machine, pellet furnace, blast furnace, iron making machine etc. that can produce 900 thousand tons of foundry pig iron and pig iron for steel making. The company also possesses the following equipment which capacity is 250 thousand tons of DN80mm--1200mm ductile iron pipes per year: one 160t mixer, three induction furnaces, seven centrifugal casting machines, two annealing furnace of DN80mm--1200mm and four finishing lines including zinc coating machine, hydraulic testing machine, cement lining machine, inner surface grinding machine and bituminous spray machine. SDIPC employs approximately 2000 people among which there are 11 senior engineers, 88 engineers, 128 assistant engineers and a lot of people who process technology and experience of manufacture. Supported by Jinan Iron & Steel Group, the company is consistently enlarging the input to the technology and reinforcing the development of the new products. It has finished the following scientific and research project: 1. Large quantity of furnace charge to raise the rate of driving. 2.Dry method to remove dust of gas system; 3.Domesticlization of the American made centrifugal casting machine; 4.Program control of Centrifugal casting machine�s repeatedly speed deduction; 5.Development of DN1200 mm ductile iron pipes; 6.
