Prapanjam is a rural handicrafts venture producing eco-friendly, green products. Prapanjam is entirelypowered by, and hence empowering, rural women. We, at Prapanjam, are a sincere effort to bring tolimelight the many creative and niche craft skillset of these rural women and enable them withsustainable employment/income.Founded in 2008 by Thiru Kumaran Muthiah, an engineer from the MIT, chennai and an experiencedprofessional in offshore development, Prapanjam is a vision for creating self sustainable villages.Prapanjam was initially started with 10 women from T.Kallupatti village near Madurai, TN. Today, womenfrom nearly 21 adjoining villages are a part of this initiative adding a lot of creative value and quality tothe product line.
