Kunpoong Bio Co., Ltd. is one of world's leading manufacturers and exporters of health foods, especially chitosanoligosaccharide-related products, with a production capacity of 200 metric tons per annum.

The company has put a great deal of research into chitosan and chitosanoligosaccharide, and has ascertained that chitosanoligosaccharide rather than chitosan haspositive effects on various functions of organisms. In 1996, the company succeeded in finding and commercializing an enzyme that changes chitosan into chitosanoligosaccharide. The company employs a workforce of 22, including nine engineers and two quality assurance staff, at its headquarters in Seoul. The company mainly exports to North America, Europe, the Asia Pacific region, East Asia, and Southeast Asia.
