Jeonnam Economy Promotion Agency (JEPA) was established in 2007 with purpose of balancing the local economy and promoting the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). JEPA has built an integrated system to provide all necessary services ? including management troubleshooting, information sharing, financing and capitals, technology development, exploring market opportunities, and technology transfer for functional food ? which helps enhance the competitiveness of the local SMEs, and stimulate local economy.

Thanks to its perfect clean environment, Jeonnam can produce not only the finely processed food but also the organic agriculture and fisheries such as various agricultural products, teas, seafood and laver.

Also, Jeonnam has Yeosu Industrial Complex, POSCO?s Gwangyang Steel Works, and Daebul Industrial Complex, where it has attained and accumulated its strong global competitiveness in oil refining, steel, and shipbuilding of heavy and chemical industry. In addition, JEPA helps the local SMEs to participate in the foreign trade shows, and organizes overseas sales promotion events for its agriculture and fisheries businesses in order to support the outstanding local SMEs to exploit their global market opportunities.
