Jan. 23, 2005 - A South Korean man has re-invented the hula hoop.
The new model - called a Sing Sing Hoop has become the latest weapon in the fight against flab.
It's been a top toy for more than five decades but the humble hula hoop has finally been given a makeover. A South Korean firm has invented the Sing Sing Hoop - and its proving popular with fitness fanatics everywhere.
Kim Yoon-a, sing sing hoop user, saying: "The hoop is made of springs so I can really feel it wrap around my body, increasing  the intensity of the exercise."
The hoop comes in different lengths and weights and is far easier to transport than the traditional design. It's inventor spent many hours perfecting the product.
Lee Hyung-Rae, President of Sing Sing Hoop, saying (Korean): "By using a spring, you don't have to put anything inside the hoop to weigh it down"
