Started from 2008, when the financial crisis spread throughout the world the economy started going down, What made XMOTOS keep a big investment in new products development and racing team operation?

When a business is not profitable any longer, many other companies chose to close or change the business, What made XMOTOS to keep devoting themselves to improving the quality and performance of their products, wishing to win the market with good reputation?

To a business man, if one business is no more profitable, we think, the only reason that keeps driving him to devote himself, is passion.

There are numerous blueprints on the desk of Mr. Sean Ying, the CEO of XMOTOS. On these blueprints, is the vision and career of Sean. this is the park that we are going to build, covers an area of 25 square km, include horse racing, car racing, motorcycle racing, jet ski racing, paraglider etc, extreme sports which are new to China. When he is talking about this plan, he is excited as a young teenager instead of the CEO of a corporation. Actually he prefers for people to know him as a racer.

Sean loves extreme sports. This love started from the first motorcycle his family bought, when he was only 1.2 meters tall. can you imagine how funny I looked when I was riding then, a 1.2m tall little boy riding on a big motorcycle, in local saying, it's a frog sitting on a sheep. But I was quite good at riding. The road conditions back then were very bad, but I could ride at around 80 kph. People in town saw me and said I'm a bad boy, can only hear the sound, but can't see the person when I ride pass.

Because of the love of extreme sports, as the CEO of Zhejiang Lianbang Engineering Plastics Co. Ltd., Sean started to develop and manufacture small power off road motorcycles and ATV in 2003. He founded an amateur riding team with 6 employees and took them to test the products in the country side.

In Xmotos factory, there is a 4500 square meter in-house test track. We do all in house testing on this track for every model that we develop. This way we can find and solve all the hidden problems through non-stop testing. I remember the first time we tested a bike on this track, many parts got loose after few rounds of riding. Right now, some models that we produce are suitable for racing. The track is our first test lab.

As the CEO of XMOTOS, Sean always likes to try some extreme riding: by test riding, I felt the fun of extreme sports, I also understood the disadvantage of performance and quality. So I now know how to improve in future product development, to avoid the bad reputation of obsolete and non-qualified products.

When Sean talks about the dangers of extreme sports, he looks very calm. since 2003 I started to get ontrack with my motorcycle, falling down and get hurt is normal, I should have more than 100 broken bones and scars on me right now. The most serious injury happened to him in 2007, when XMotos racing team was just founded. He was doing a jumping move on the track. he hadn't pulled the throttle fully. He fell and hurt his left eye.

However he did not regret what happened, Sean still invested a lot of money and time into the XMotos racing team and domestic racing events. And for the very first time in China, he invited the top racers from Australia to perform in a top level free style motorcycle show. The XMotos racing team has 10 racers at peak time, including 2 female racers which is new in China, and has been staying as the top 3 racing teams in China.

The devotion for manufacturing good quality Chinese made motorcycles is from the passion that Sean has to this sport, and keeps transferring his passion and determination to every Xmotos employee. Because of this kind of passion to motorcycle business from boss to employees, XMotos has, can and WILL survive in the economic crisis and all kinds of challenge, devotion in the business, and will keep selling XMOTOS products to every corner of the world.
