Company Introduction

Khumhold was registered in April 2003 and founded to fill the void left int the Procurement market as a result of the heritage of traditional procurement criteria depriving Black Entrepreneurs to access business opportunities.

The political changes in South Africa created a climate conducive for entrepreneurship. Over the past 10 years, there were numerous and significant legislative changes that enhance the chances for the new empowerment generation entrepreneurs to make inroads into the opportunities that were created.

Our Main Aim Areas
- To use intellectual property of established busenesses to educate and transfer skills in establishing a distribution medium in support and favour of BEE companies.
- To act as a facilitator between established business and empowerment groups
- To support joint ventures with small independent produces and manufacturers that do not have distribution facilities and networks
- To offer top quality products at competitive prices

- To develop international relationships in demonstrating empowerment trough partnership and shareholding
- Sweat equity - active value added - breakdown of perceptions that Africans cannot add value and just want a free meal.
- To identify viable BEE, SME's that are ready to gear up and partake in the mainstream business economy.

- Sourcing of additional skill if required.

National Buying Office:
The large retail giants have taken over in new, modern shopping centres in almost every township. Thus, because of buying power, they are able to negotiate the very best prices and terms. As a result they have taken the market and up to 50% of spaza's (informal shops) have closed down.

The newly formed "Buying Office" under the umbrella of Khumhold has access to all cycle deal pricing from big brand names and has established a range of "No-name-brand" products to compete on price, even against "Big Brand Name" deal pricing.
These new low costs will be passed on as a direct cost to the informal trader.

We are however, not naive to think that an orginisation can be build on such privileges forever. Counter strategies are being developed and the delivering of the best products and services is a high priority.

The complexity of the South African Cultural Composition is a challenge and delivering products that are historically dominated by conglomerates is challenging.
Management has had some 20 years experience in the wholesale distribution market and is associated with companies doing in excess of R3 billion.
